FAQS

Where are lessons held?

Dance lessons are offered in Denver and Boulder. You decide what location works best for you!

Denver Studio (WDC Main Studio): 520 Cherokee Street, Denver, CO 80204.

Boulder Studio: Kakes Studios 2115 Pearl Street, Boulder CO 80302.

When should we begin Wedding Dance Lessons?

We recommend starting dance lessons 3 months prior to your event. This helps to keep the choreography fresh in your mind and body! It also gives us a lot of scheduling flexibility.

How do I schedule a lesson?

To schedule a lesson, please fill out the Contact Us form and we will get back to you within 24 hours. Or you can email elizabeth@myweddingdancecoach.com or call/text 773-977-9580. Be sure to include your email address, wedding date and what location (Denver or Boulder) would work best for you. Together we will find dates/times that work with your schedule!

When are you available to do private lessons?

We do most of our lessons on the weekends but do have weekday availability. We know how busy things can get when you’re planning a wedding and we try to be as flexible as possible with scheduling your lessons. NOTE: March thru September is our peak season, so be sure to schedule your lessons 3 months in advance of your wedding to ensure you get your ideal dates/times.

What are your private lesson rates?

7 Private Package – $650 – You save $190.

5 Private Package – $485 – You save $115.

3 Private Package – $325 – You save $35.

1 Private Lesson – $120

All rates include 2 people. For wedding parties and private groups, it’s $10 per person for the first 4 additional people and $5 for every person after that.

Music Editing (for one or more songs) – $120. You send us a list of the songs you want, in the order you want them and we will create the perfect mix! This is a great option for those couples looking to spice things up for their first dance (or if you can’t decide on just one song!).

What is the length of a lesson?

Private lessons are 60 minutes.  Although, depending on the complexity of the routine and the wedding date, we may recommend booking 2 hours in a row.  This is a great way to get a lot of choreography completed in one session and helps alleviate some last minute scheduling stress.  This works well for many couples!

What styles of dance do you teach?

We pride ourselves on being dance experts and we want to bring your vision to life! We listen to your music and determine what style of dance would work best with the music’s tempo/style and your skill level. Often times we don’t limit ourselves to just one style and have fun playing with multiple styles within the same song. Here are some examples of dances we often teach but the possibilities are endless: Waltz, Foxtrot, Swing, Salsa, Rumba, Tango, Country Two Step, Nightclub Two Step, Hip Hop, Contemporary and Cabaret Jazz.

What clothing do you recommend for lessons?

Wear something that you feel comfortable moving in!  Our instructors usually wear dance/work-out clothes but feel free to wear whatever you desire.  It’s also a great idea to bring your wedding shoes to practice in!  This will give you added confidence on the big day.

What should I bring?

Please remember to bring the following to your lessons:

  • Your music, downloaded and available on an unlock-able phone or device that we can plug into our sound system

  • Device (camera, phone, tablet, etc.) to take video at the end of each lesson. It’s helpful to have a video to practice with at home.

  • Your wedding shoes if you want to practice in those (highly recommended!).

Who will be my instructor?
